Purpose and Reason:

The purpose of this filing is to amend the shellfish management area regulations by; establishing an area within Quonochontaug Pond as a spawner sanctuary and placing a three year oyster harvest moratorium in Quonochontaug Pond; establishing an area within Potter Pond (Sycamore Cove) as a spawner sanctuary; and establishing a oyster harvest moratorium in Bissell Cove/Fox Island Shellfish Management Area; and routine clarification of regulatory language.
